LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A WWE executive said the UFC 306 show at Sphere looked like “a lot of fun,” adding, “I wanna do that” during a Saturday news conference.
In the post-event media scrum for the WWE Bad Blood premium live event in Atlanta, Georgia, the company’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, commented on the UFC’s recent appearance at the newest performance venue in the entertainment capital of the world, Sphere.
“When I see what Dana [White] is doing and just crushing it, and I see stuff at the Sphere, and I look at that production, and I’m like, I wanna do that. It’s just a lot of fun,” Levesque said.
As Levesque mentioned, UFC mixed martial arts debuted at Sphere in September with UFC 306. That event was a massive success, setting gross revenue records for both UFC and Sphere.
WWE could have the opportunity to take on Sphere as WrestleMania, professional wrestling’s biggest annual event, comes to Las Vegas in April 2025. Tickets for the two-night mega event go on sale on Oct. 25. WWE SmackDown and Raw shows will bookend the event at MGM venues during the week of WrestleMania, LVCVA officials said.
In addition, WWE World, a fan experience event historically taking place over five days leading up to WrestleMania, will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center before the premium live event. 180,000 people are expected to slam southern Nevada when the “granddaddy of them all,” WrestleMania, arrives in April.
While no event has been announced for Sphere, the venue is on WWE’s radar.
