WrestleMania 41 to bring ‘matches you never imagined’

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes said to expect the unexpected at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas as tickets for the two-night mega event are set to go on sale.

With the World Wrestling Entertainment brand being as popular as it has ever been, it’s unlikely anyone is unfamiliar with WWE’s Raw and SmackDown products. Therefore, it’s equally unlikely that anyone has no working knowledge of WrestleMania, the weeklong spectacle coming to Las Vegas in April 2025.

WrestleMania is the biggest event in the professional wrestling world. Dubbed the “granddaddy of them all” and the “showcase of the immortals,” sports entertainers work their whole careers to create their “WrestleMania moments.” It’s something that WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes has done several times since his return to the company in 2022.

“It’s the Super Bowl of what we do,” Rhodes said. Indeed, the comparison is apt. WrestleMania regularly sells out 65,000-seat football stadiums, most recently for two nights at a time. The show is a spectacle of celebrity, pageantry, and storytelling. It’s the finale of the WWE’s year of twists and turns.

“Everything heads towards WrestleMania,” he said. “That’s the endgame. That’s the final final. That’s the the climax.”

As reliable as WrestleMania has been in providing the biggest moments in sports entertainment, “The American Nightmare” said the creative team at WWE is always looking to up their game heading into the annual event.

“It’s been doing that for 40 years, so you have to find a way — how is this going to be better than 39? How is 40 going to be better? How is 41 going to be better,” he said.

How will WrestleMania 41 be better? The answer, Rhodes said, may start with WWE legend John Cena. The superstar announced in July that the Las Vegas show would be his last WrestleMania as an active competitor. Rhodes said the superstar’s last call as a competitor will be a highlight of 2025.

“In terms of all of us wrestling fans and wrestlers alike enjoying the final run of John Cena,” Rhodes said. “And I think as far as the locker room and just general wrestlers all across the globe, everywhere they’re at, a lot of appreciation for John.”

It will be the end of an era for wrestling fans who grew up with the leader of the Cenation as the north star of the industry. It’s yet to be seen who Cena will take on in his final WrestleMania battle, but Rhodes expects WrestleMania 41 to be anything but predictable.

“You’re probably looking at avenues you didn’t think we’d take,” he said. “Matches you never imagined would happen.”

WrestleMania 41 takes place on April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium. Tickets are set to go on sale on Oct. 25 on Ticketmaster starting at 10:00 a.m. Presale access is available at WWE’s website, and “early access opportunities” to snag packages before the general on-sale date are also available.
