LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Professional wrestler Ricochet is set to face Katsuyori Shibata in a tournament to become the number one contender for the AEW International Championship in Las Vegas on Saturday.

When high-flying professional wrestling maverick Ricochet performs in Las Vegas, it isn’t a simple stop on the road. For him, it’s a homecoming. Saturday’s AEW Collision event at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas represents his first major appearance in the sports and entertainment capital of the world in years.

Now a local, Ricochet shared his love for the more scenic Las Vegas that he calls home.

“The mountains and the sunsets and the sky and… just the scenery,” Ricochet said. “Vegas has it all.”

On Saturday, Vegas has it all – plus All Elite Wrestling. The “one and only” is laser-focused on his goal. The AEW International Championship. Ricoshet said he is determined to prove himself by winning a tournament to become the number one contender for that title.

“I’m this close, one step closer to achieving my goal of holding gold,” Ricochet said. “This tournament is my meal ticket.”

His first challenge is no small feat: defeating Katsuyori Shibata at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on Saturday. Still, Ricochet believes he’s up to the task, and advises fans to expect energy come Collision in Las Vegas.

“Expect electricity. Expect the unexpected, as they say,” Ricochet said. “Expect action. Expect the drama. Expect the intensity. Expect me, because I’m going to be there.”
